Today's ArchiPic #111

The Claiborne Pell Bridge in Newport, Rhode Island | Picture courtesy wikipedia.org

Today's ArchiPic is the Newport Bridge in Newport, Rhode Island.  The bridge is named after the U.S. senator, Claiborne Pell, and was built in 1969.  At around 55 million dollars, this beautiful bridge isn't cheap.  I've traveled across this bridge countless times while on my three vacations to the New England area.  Fort Adams is very close and (I believe) is on the right side of the picture.

  1. Hi Zach,

Just discovered your blog. You're doing a great job!

Architecture in games is often overlooked or dismissed. Shame really because often real life buildings pale in comparison to their virtual counterparts.

    Love reading your posts.

    1. Hey Frederick,
Thanks for the feedback! It's cool to see people commenting that they like reading what I post. I obviously haven't posted in awhile but I may be getting back at it soon. It's very hard to keep up with a blog all the time when there is school and other things going on in my life.

Again thanks for the encouraging comment!
      - Zach

  2. Are you going to continue this blog, Zach? I'm looking forward it.
I have this blog in my bookmarks and I check this out every day. I want to study more about architecture and I want to see you analyzing pictures you post here.

I hope you soon get some time to update your fascinating blog :)

    1. Hi Seedaum, I can't believe it's has already almost been a year since my last post! I have seen your comments on the Skyrim posts yes.

Thanks for the comments man! Honestly, since last October, I have not felt inspired or motivated to post. I think I should continue this blog though. I started it in January 2011. Anyways, to answer your question, YES :) It might not be as frequently as it used to be. (I will also be starting school again on August 14 this Wednesday.) If my posting schedule starts to change, I will make a post about it on this blog of course letting you all know. When will my next post be out?? I'm thinking tonight or tomorrow. We'll see. It might involve some Minecraft stuff!

      Cheers!

    3. I'm glad to hear you still continue :D And don't worry, if you can't post as frequently as you used to do in 2012.
My school has also started, and of course we all have other things to do in our lives, so it's totally understandable.

My book, well... At the moment I'm stuck with it. It's been so busy and hard for me, so I haven't had time or strength to focus on it. But I'll continue it soon :)

But keep posting (as you've already done) and have fun with this blog. You're doing great :)
