Today's ArchiPic #66

 Helix Hotel from freshbump.com

Today's ArchiPic is the Spiraling Helix Hotel that is planned to be built in Abu Dhabi, UAE.  (a city close to Dubai)  I have never seen anything like it.  It looks like layers of gelatin put together in a weird way; but of course, this is obviously an abstract design.  Not that it is sloppily put together, but it is designed in no actual form.  A New York firm called Leeser Architecture have one a competition that let them design this hotel in the Zayed Bay district of Abu Dhabi.  And obvoiusly it is called "Helix" for it's spiraling floors and layers.  It will be part of a new waterfront development that is already under construction.
